April has been a busy month in the Pez Collectors Store with the first convention of the year at ATX. We had a great time and are very happy that Ryan and Abby revived this great convention! There are more conventions coming up fast and if you haven't registered, you need to do so quickly! Meanwhile, there have been several new pez exclusive releases. Several expected pez releases have been canceled or delayed, but more are expected to be released soon. This month, we will be traveling to the Sweets and Snacks Expo to learn all about the plans for the rest of the year, plus plans for 2026 Pez releases. We will be sharing all of the newest information with you as we are allowed!
USA Naruto Pez arrived in the Pez Collectors Store and as expected, they are the same as the European releases. Naruto is the yellow haired main character, Sakura is the pink haired girl and Sasuke is the blue haired boy. These are available now in polybags. The Naruto Pez Twin Pack with Naruto and Sasuke is also in stock and ready to ship now!
The Yellow Glitter Crystal Easter Chick in Egg Pez was an exclusive limited edition release that came just in time for Easter! A true egg yolk yellow color opaque glittery crystal chick is still wearing his egg shell cajp. He has adorable huge eyes with heart highlights and a tiny little beak. This is a real unique use of the egg mold and makes a really special Easter pez that sold out quite quickly! We have just a few of these left in stock in the Pez Collectors Store.
Mamacado is the newest exclusive Pez release for Mother’s Day in their Celebrations Collection. This joyful mama avocado has rosy cheeks, closed eyes with eyelashes and a satisfied smile. Her stick figure arms are wrapped around her baby pit, and she has a printed stem that says MAMACADO. The mold is the same as the avocado from the Pez Treats assortment. The card is designed to be given as a gift with To and From gift tag lines on the back of the card making it great for Mother's Day or as a gift for an expectant mother. It is almost a sure bet that we will see a PAPACADO in a month or so when Father’s Day comes around! Perhaps he will look something like the second Avocado shown on the card with his stick figure arms under the baby pit.
The Barbie pez from Europe is still on hold pending depletion of existing inventory of the 2023 Barbie Pez Girls. Ken has just been added to the US and European Barbie Pez assortment. However, the Ken and Barbie Pez Twin Pack for the US has been cancelled for now. We will have Ken in stock in the Pez Collectors Store in just a few days!
Also expected April 1 was a new Pokemon Pez assortment including Gengar, Winking Eevee and Happy Pikachu on a red stem. We had an order placed in anticipation of the 3 new characters, but the order arrived with only the 2023 Pokemon pez. We have placed yet another order and are told that it should be arriving soon with the new characters!
June 1 was the first scheduled shipping date for the Winking Pikachu and Gengar Mini Clips. Our order for these was canceled because they have a large amount of existing Pikachu and Pokeball Mini Clips inventory already.
June 1 is the first scheduled shipping date for the Mini Stitch and Angel Pez Clips. The Mini Clips are a modified mini stem with a molded loop to which a clip for a backpack, purse strap, belt loop, etc. is attached. The heads are identical to standard pez. The Pez Clips are twin cards with two different related clips and 6 packs of pez candy. We will have the Stitch and Angel Pez Mini Clips available as soon as possible.
In July, we can look forward to a new assortment of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Fortunately, this will be a set of only 4 characters, Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael and Michelangelo, each on a stem matching their mask color.
The Nightmare Before Christmas assortment with Jack, Sally and Zero is also scheduled for release in July. Jack and Sally will be available in a twin pack as well. We will have these in stock as soon as they are released!
We are looking forward to having so much more to tell you after visiting with our sales rep and all the folks from Pez Candy, Inc. at the Sweets and Snacks Expo in Indianapolis this month. We will spend a great deal of time taking photos of upcoming releases, gathering as much information as the company can share with us, trying to learn about their strategies and plans to keep the new pez coming our way and getting the lineup and schedule of releases for the next year!
This weekend is the KC PEZ Gathering hosted by Dru Lepper and Tony Jordan, with assistance from Tony’s fiancé, Nicole Dover. This is their first pez gathering and it seems that they have a lot of fun events planned. The registration packet includes an incredible wooden box with their logo laser engraved on the lid, T- shirt, insanely cool custom dispenser, custom pin and name tag. The agenda includes races and I suspect the custom pez dispenser has something to do with that! I am sure we will all have a great time together! I will admit, I am likely rather biased since Tony is my grandson and Dru is a dear friend, but they did this all on their own without any involvement from me – which makes it all the more fun and fulfilling for me!
