The Pez Collectors Store has added a lot of new Pez this month and we anticipate adding even more in February! It is always fun to highlight the newest additions, to talk about the pez coming soon and to share information about everything new in the world of pez!
We begin with the new additions and the new news. Monsters vs. Aliens Pez from DreamWorks Animation have arrived from Europe and are now available in the Pez Collectors Store. The three characters in this set include The Missing Link – a half fish, half ape hybrid, Insectosaurus – a 350 foot tall grub (pez dispenser is not to scale!) and a crystal pez representing the indestructible gelatinous mass with no brain, B.O.B., short for Bicarbonate Ostylezene Benzoate. These European DreamWorks Animation pez are definitely different! We are featuring these new dispensers at an introductory discounted price for a short time only!
Also just arrived from Europe and now available in the Pez Collectors Store are the new Disney pez set of Bambi, Marie from Aristocats, Dalmatian, Baloo and Simba. Bambi, Marie and Dalmatian are completely new dispensers. Simba has a different printing on his ears and that Baloo has a lighter snout and comes on a red stem. There is no talk of these dispensers being released in the USA at this time, though with Pez Co, one just never knows! We are featuring these new dispensers at an introductory discounted price for a limited time only!
Valentines Day is coming soon and last month we told you about the release of Cupid or the Cherub and a new cloudy medium pink heart with three different sayings. This heart is the 1996 mold; the same mold that all the previous valentine hearts has used.
Pez Co. threw us a curve for 2009 with a new mold which has a 2008 copyright. The older 1996 copyright mold valentines all sit with the tip of the heart above the stem on a cap similar to an old style regular cap. The new 2009 release features a valentine with a 2008 mold in which the tip of the heart falls below the top of the stem, making the overall height of the new hearts nearly 1/2" shorter than the previous versions.
This new mold has been found on the Red clear crystal hearts, the three new Medium Pink Cloudy crystal hearts, and on the light pink clear crystal hearts (though we have not found these yet). Each comes with three different sayings - Be Mine, I (heart) U, and Happy Valentine's Day. The print is a black block font as seen last year and the Valentine hearts all come with hearts printed on the stems.
The 2009 Cuddle Cubs Plush pez have a new look and a completely new bear. The dark brown bear is cute as can be and has replaced the white polar bear in the 2009 Cuddle Cubs mix. The other bears look much the same, but are not quite as furry as the previous releases. All of the 2009 Cuddle Cubs come on a completely different card with a pink banner and yellow background much different than the previous red card.
The exclusive US versions of the Madagascar Escape 2 Africa Pez are all available in the Pez Collectors Store now. We were really surprised at the differences in the new variations of Madagascar pez. Alex the Lion has a line from the nose to the mouth and has a much redder made and a lighter yellow nose as compared to either of the previous (with line and no line Alex versions).
Marty the Zebra is also quite different with a lighter gray nose and the head is white with black zebra stripes rather than the previous “not quite as white” with a dark gray nose versions. Gloria the hippo does not sport so many obvious differences – the stem is a slightly different color pink and is made in China in the newest version. Of course, Skipper and Melman are also included in the USA releases with the Made in China molded on their stems – a feature that is missing on the European versions of these pez.
We really enjoy variations and the new Madagascar add a lot to the previous variations of these dispensers.
The Pez Collectors Store was able to add a few of the new Pez Flavored Lip Balm and Lip Gloss 10 pack Gift Set from Lotta Luv. This gift set features 5 different tubes of lip gloss and 5 different tubes of lip balm in lemon, grape, orange, cherry and raspberry flavors. This cute package shows the Pez Girl and a boy with a pony pez dispenser in a pez candy background. Each tube of lip gloss features the pez girl picture on the tube. This set is a must have for all pez collections! We don’t have too many of these, so be sure to place your order soon while inventory lasts!
We are still waiting for the release of Pete the Cat in the Disney Mickey Mouse Clubhouse sets, but we were able to obtain a few of the new Disney Clubhouse Goofy Pez dispensers. These are a return to the Classic Disney look, but have been updated somewhat. The new Goofy Pez actually looks a bit more like the Goofy from the Extremes than the classic Goofy, except he has no headphones, his teeth are even larger and his tongue does not hang all the way out of his mouth and the hat is still much taller, but is more rounded on top. Again, supplies are limited, so order soon!
We were able to get a few additional Buster and Darby Pez along with the Pooh with Blue Collar. These have been quite scarce and we receive only a few in each case we order, leaving us with an abundance of the older and unchanged Winnie the Pooh characters. We do what we can to be sure to stock at least some of all the newest pez for our customers, but when they are gone, it could be a while before we get more!
We have had many customers ask why we don’t carry a full line of Pez Candy, so we have added the complete line of candy refills to our webstore. The currently available refill packs come in Assorted Fruit flavors, Cola, Sourz, and Chocolate flavor Pez. You can now order your Pez Candy Refill Packs through the Pez Collectors Store!
Feburary is the scheduled release date for the Clone Wars series and we are anxiously waiting to be billed for the order we placed long ago! As soon as we are billed, we know that we can expect the pez to arrive within a week and we always work hard to get these posted and available for sale in the Pez Collectors Store just as soon as they arrive.
Last month, we told you about the new Major League Baseballs scheduled for release March 1 and now we can show you the pictures! The two new Major League Baseballs have been added to the lineup for shipment March 1 include the Philadelphia Phillies baseball featuring the Liberty Bell with the Phillies logo inside a homeplate shape, and the second MLB for this year is a Yankees Stadium 2009 Inaugural Season Commemorative dispenser. These look great and we will have them available in the Pez Collectors Store just as soon as they arrive from Pez Co.
As if keeping up with all the newest pez releases is not enough, we need to share information about the upcoming 2009 Kansas City PezHead Gathering! The Pez Collectors Store is proud to host and sponsor the 2nd Annual Kansas City PezHead Gathering on Saturday, May 23, 2009 of Memorial Weekend! Kansas City is the Heart of America, former home of Walt Disney, home of the UMKC Roos and a wonderful place to spend a memorable day with your Pezzy friends! We have a very full day of events planned, including a pez swap, talk and shop extravaganza with well known dealers, an informative seminar, a stuff yourself BBQ lunch buffet, a Charity auction to benefit the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America, a tour of the Kansas City Toy and Miniature Museum and all new pezzy games for pezzy prizes! Of course, The Economy registration to the day’s events will include all of the activities of the day, lunch, a tour of the Kansas City Toy and Miniature Museum and our Best Value - the Works option also includes a 2009 Kansas City PezHead Gathering T-shirt, two different 2nd Annual KC PezHead Gathering Lapel pins, a special candy pack, a special gathering dispenser. Most importantly, attending the KC PezHead Gathering is an opportunity to share a great day with your fellow PezHeads! There is also an opportunity to purchase a limited, numbered Kansas City PezHead Gathering Charity pin with the proceeds going to the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America. Absentee orders for gathering items is also available.
We have reserved a block of rooms at the Kansas City Holiday Inn at the Plaza with discounted rates for those who may need accommodations. Our room block is reserved through April 22, 2009 and we have been told that there is another group wanting rooms for the same weekend, so be sure to make reservations with the hotel early to assure a room if desired.
