Spring is coming! March will hopefully bring not only an end to winter, but also plenty of new pez! The 2010 Kansas City PezHead Gathering website is available now so you can register to attend or order gathering packets and other goodies. Further great news: Shawn Peterson has been named PezHead of the Year at the PEZcific Pez Convention in California. So, there is lots happening in the wonderful world of Pez!
First, Ben 10 has arrived from Europe along with Heat Blast and Way Big.
The 6 new Winnie the Pooh Click ‘n Play Pez dispensers have all arrived from Europe. Roo was somewhat delayed but now is in stock, completing the set. These are really cute, though I will anticipate that there will be a great deal of interchanging of stems and tops and many lost tops as children play with these. This has the potential of making them even more collectible in the future.
The Florida Marlins, Seattle Mariners and the Chicago White Sox were delayed according to Pez Co. Their communication reads, “We’re experiencing a delay with our scheduled Feb 1 release of 3 new MLB teams – Chicago White Sox, Seattle Mariners and Florida Marlins. The first ship date will be after Feb 15 but before the end of the month.” The Pez Collectors Store has had our order placed and we hope to be among the first shipments sent out by Pez Co, but we don’t know for sure when these will arrive. We are now hoping to receive them by the middle of March.
Pez Boy and Pez Girl Luggage tags will be available sometime after mid March. What a way to make your bags stand out among all the others! The Pez Collectors Store has been given an expected ship date of March 15, so we should have these new licensed Pez luggage tags in stock before the end of the month!
Princess Tiana was scheduled to be added to the Princess Pez assortment in March, but as always, Pez Co will ship out old inventory from their warehouse before shipping newly packaged cases. This princess was originally scheduled for release in September, 2009. Our request for a photo of the actual dispenser brought us only the image below from Pez. We are now being told that she might be added to the Princess line in April, so it is questionable when she will start being added to cases being shipped. It could be awhile before Tiana begins showing up. Be on the lookout for this new Princess, but don't expect it in March.
The Pez Collectors Store has been really busy with planning the 2010 Kansas City PezHead Gathering to be held at the Holiday Inn Kansas City NorthEast on May 28 and 29, 2010. We have developed a full website just for the KC PezHead Gathering at www.kcpezgathering.com and registration is now open.
You may choose the Best Value - The Works Attendee Registration which is truly the best value! This registration includes admission to all of the pezzy events of the gathering, beginning with a Pez Swap Party on Friday evening, room hopping as dealers choose to open their rooms, early admission to the Pez Show on Saturday, BBQ lunch buffet and drinks, the Charity Auction, pezzy games and PEZGO game tickets, and all of the fun, along with a gathering packet including a T-Shirt, a 2010 KC PezHead Gathering Registration Pin, a 2010 KC PezHead Gathering Attendance Pin (only available for attendees in the Works Registration or at the gathering if we have any extra), a special KC Gathering pez dispenser, candy packs, and a door prize ticket.

The Economy Attendee Registration option includes your souvenir name tag for admission to all of the pezzy events of the gathering, beginning with a Pez Swap Party on Friday evening, room hopping as dealers choose to open their rooms, early admission to the Pez Show on Saturday, BBQ lunch buffet and drinks, the Charity Auction, pezzy games and PEZGO game tickets and all of the fun! This registration does not include the pezzy goodies in the gathering packet, but shirts and pins can be ordered separately from the Extra Goodies section. Special KC PezHead Gathering dispensers, candy packs, lapel pins and the Charity pin may be available at the gathering for separate purchase or after the gathering if any are still available.
Dealer tables are available at no charge on a first come, first serve basis as space allows, so dealers should register for the gathering and contact us as soon as possible to arrange table space for the Pez Show!
Hurry and register soon! Early registration ends April 28 at 5:00 pm cst. Prices increase by $10.00 after that. The deadline to register for the Gathering with the Works Registration is May 12 at 5:00 pm cst. After that, only Economy Registrations will be available.
We really hope that you can join us in Kansas City for the 3rd KC PezHead Gathering, but if you can’t, you can still order the goodies by purchasing the Absentee packet. The packet includes the bling we can ship to you - a T-Shirt, a 2010 KC PezHead Gathering Registration Pin (sorry, the Attendance pin is reserved for attendees), and a special KC Gathering pez dispenser with gathering candy pack. We wish we could send you the world of fun we'll be having with all the pezzy people, but that just isn't possible.
You may also choose to add additional individual items from the Extra Goodies section, along with your Registration or absentee gathering packet - extra T-shirts, extra registration pins and also the charity pin which is not included in the gathering packets.
Please note that all Gathering goodies will first be available at the gathering and absentee gathering packets and extra goodies will not be shipped until June 1, 2010.
A 2010 KC PezHead Gathering CCFA Charity lapel pin for the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation can also be purchased from the Extra Goodies section, but is not included with any of the registrations. 100% of the proceeds from the sales of these pins will be donated to the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America. Only 50 of these pins are being produced, so they will be rather limited. Hurry and order soon before we run out!
We were able to negotiate great rates with the Hotel for our guests, available only until May 7, so hurry and book your room now. We also negotiated a corporate sponsorship for discount rates on admission tickets to Worlds of Fun and Oceans of Fun. Extend your stay in Kansas City and plan to visit the amusement park before or after the gathering! Discount tickets can be purchased online. Full details are available on the Kansas City PezHead Gathering website in the KC Attractions section and discounts are valid through the 2010 season. For those that prefer the thrills and fun of casinos, the Ameristar Casino and Harrah’s Casino are quite close to the hotel and the hotel provides shuttle service to all of these attractions for hotel guests.
