Auto - PEZ

In the mid 1970s PEZ International released a series of plastic HO 1:72 scale cars, race cars, jeeps and trucks. The 1:72 scale Fiat 500, Mini Cooper and VW cars can be seen in Peterson's Collectors Guide to Pez on page 235. A salesman's car display kit showing different trucks, cars, race cars and jeeps is shown in Peterson's guide on page 237. The kit is written in French but translates in English to something like "This red hot promotion You watch the children buy PEZ cars and you will know what is a really rapid promotion!" The cars were manufactured in Italy by CGGC Grisoni which was an Italian producer of plastic toys in the 1970s - 1980s. The company went out of business in the mid 1980s and some of their old stock has now been found. The Fiat 500, the Innocenti Mini MK2 and the VW Maggiolino have the PEZ logo molded on the bottom of the car. The Race cars have the oval which used to say PEZ filled over, but you can still see the edges of the PEZ lettering. The Jeeps are not as nicely molded over, so PEZ is still more visible. The PEZ logo is not present on the trucks at all, but the 6 different style trucks - dump truck, hauler truck, tanker truck, ladder truck, hook truck and cement mixer trucks are shown in the PEZ auto salesman display. There are 4 different styles of race cars numbered 1 - Ferrari, 2 - BRM, 3 - Cooper and number 4 - Lotus. These cars also come with 4 different engines and we have 6 different colors - red, blue, green, white, yellow and purple. The cars, jeeps and trucks all come in a huge variety of colors!

Pez Header Cards and Counter Displays

Many pez collectors enjoy collecting the display boxes and header cards. European and US full size floor shipper and counter display headers are included in this category! In 2005, pez switched from the generic counter display with individual header cards to the full graphics counter display box specific to the set in the counter box. Each new counter display box now contains 12 dispensers compared to the generic boxes with header cards which held 24 dispensers. The floor shippers today hold 7 counter display boxes and two boxes of pez refills. These floor shippers also have a header card specific to the set contained in the display. Most of these are thrown away when the retail store is finished with them, so they are not always easy to acquire.

Pez Jungle Mission, Pens and Magic

Pez Jungle Mission Flashlights are a cool PEZ toy with lots of gadgets and a real, working flashlight! Rocket Pens light up and really write and the Pez Magic dispensers can make an entire pack of candy disappear and reappear! Of course, they all dispense pez candies!

Pez Lip Balm

Pez Flavored Lip Balm was released in a variety of forms - from the simple tube of lip balm to the balm on a lanyard and the lip balm with a clip-on dispenser head topper. The toppers include the coach whistle, Peter Pez and Bubbleman heads. There is even a gift set with 10 different lip balm and lip gloss tubes, all pez flavored!

Pez Mini Mints

New for 2007 is a different Pez Candy product called mini mints. These mints were first released in 2006 in European countries and the containers featured Andy Worhol artwork. The new Americana Series released in the USA features 6 different pieces of art from Norman Rockwell. The mints come in Mint flavor and Orange flavor and are sugar free. The complete set of 12 includes the 6 different mint containers and the 6 different orange containers.

The Cool School Tool Pez Dispenser has a pencil, eraser, ruler, storage box, paper and stickers and a handy clip. Of course, it is also a pez dispenser and comes with pez candies. There are three different styles - a blue splash, pink flowers and cool camouflage!

Pez Yummy Bubbles

First released in 2002, Yummy Bubbles are somewhat oversized Pez heads with a wand that dips into the stem which is solid and serves as a reservoir for the Yummy Bubble solution. Kids can blow bubbles with the liquid (you have to mix the powder with water to make the liquid) and then catch them on their tongue for the tasty treat. These came in 6 different designs - Bubbleman, Peter Pez, He-Saur, Icee Bear, Panda and Butterfly or Ant.

Telephone

European Electronic Pez Telephones. The phones light up and makes different sounds when the buttons are pushed and comes with packs of European candies. These were previously available only thru mail order from Pez Candy as a premium offer from the inserts that came with Pez dispensers in 2000 in European countries. The candies and packaging are European style. These phones are a great addition to any Pez collection! These come in two styles of packaging - with a small phone registry or a smaller package without the directory. Clear crystal or colored phones are available!

Vintage Pez Stickers

In the 1960s and 1970s, Pez included various fun inserts, costumes and stickers with the Pez Dispensers and candy refill packages. Not many of these are available today and sadly, Pez USA seldom includes anything special in packages of pez dispensers or pez candy refill packages. The vintage stickers can sometimes be found on vintage dispensers, placed there by a kid, just as intended. There are a variety of different stickers and costumes and they are a fun addition to the Pez Collection!
